Not so funny...

I love my kids, but last night Dalton pushed my limit. At 10:30 pm I was exhausted and it was bedtime. Dalton was still going strong and refused to go to bed. After at least an hour of "get back in your bed"..."go to sleep"..."it's way past your bedtime" I finally decided it was not worth the battle. Just as I'm falling asleep I was woke up with a head in my face. A hard enough hit that I knew when I woke up in the morning I would have a black eye. What a way to wake up!

When I asked Dalton why he hit me he said "because you did not wake up mommy". When Ryan asked him he said "I was crawling in bed to sleep with you and mommy because I'm tired". I was so furious. I picked him up, took him back to his bed and told him "do not get back out". This morning when I woke up who is between Ryan and I, but Dalton. I have no idea when he returned, but I am sure glad he did not wake me up as mad as I was at him.

Sure enough my four year old gave me a black eye.

1st Cereal

At Mallory's 4 month appointment last week we were given the all clear to start cereal this month and food by 5 or 6 months. So on Sunday Mallory got her first taste of something other than mommy's milk. She was a real trooper eating like a pro. She certainly has more of an appetite than her older brother.

The before shot...all clean.

First taste...

Not too bad...

Now let me do it daddy...

More please...

Mmm...

The after shot...just a little messy. She really enjoyed it and wanted more when it was all gone.

Here is a little video of her eating.

4 Months

Yesterday (March 18) Mallory turned 4 months old. Everyday is a special day with our princess, but yesterday evening was even more special. Mallory rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time.

Ryan put her down on the playmat, left the room briefly and when he returned she was on her tummy. Of course I was a little bummed that I missed it because I was driving home from work, but then again Ryan missed it too. So all evening I kept waiting to catch her either with a picture or a video to document the big day but no luck. Then I decided it was just a one time thing, but no I to left the room briefly only to find her back on her tummy. I know she was laughing at us saying "he he I can do it, but I don't want you to see it".

Mallory is now 11 lbs 9 oz and 24" long. From 2 months to 4 months she nearly put on 4 lbs. She has blossomed and filled out from head to toe. She has amazing tone and strength. Her growth chart has a sharp incline over the two month period rather than a continual curve. She still however remains below the line in weight, but her length is now slightly above the line.

Most days she is a happy, go lucky little girl, but I would be fibbing if I said everyday was perfect. She has her moments especially when she is hungry. Let's just say she has a great set of lungs.

She is really starting to hold her head up and is easily entertained by movement.

Her playmat from Santa continues to be her perferred entertainment.

Here is a short video clip from last night.

Lunch Line

Last week Ryan and I took an opportunity to eat lunch with Dalton at school. Let's just say it has been way too long since we stood in line for a tray lunch. It brought back so many memories. Dalton enjoyed his special treat and we cherished the opportunity to share a school lunch with him.

Today Granny Bonnie is taking an opportunity to eat lunch with Dalton. It's Spring Break which means lunch box week. Granny is taking a surprise lunch...(pizza or cheeseburger).

Happy Birthday Nana!

We hope that you have a wonderful day. Enjoy your birthday.

This past weekend the entire family went out to eat to help celebrate Nana's birthday.

Nana got some quality time in with Dalton.

Uncle Randy had an opportunity to feed Mallory.

Thanks Kim for getting the delicious birthday cake.

Uncle Randy and Kim attempted to control a 'wild' 4 year old during supper...

but in the end they are much happier just the two of them.

Nana enjoyed her time with Mallory...

and Dalton.

We love you bunches. Happy Birthday Nana!!

Mallory's Sip-N-See

Okay, so I know I'm a little over a month late in posting these, but I'm trying to get caught back up. Not sure what happened to me during the month of February except I had to go back to work so blogging was not a top priority.

Thanks again Aunt Barbara and Jamie, the Sip-N-See was fabulous. I know Mallory enjoyed spending time with everyone and the food was delicious. Thanks for opening your house Jamie.

Here are a few pictures that I snapped.

It's Cowboy Time!!

A rodeo just isn't a rodeo without cowboys and cowgrils, right? St. Paul's annual Rodeo Roundup each year is a big deal I'm learning. The kids actually look forward to it all year and are so excited when it arrives. Last year was our first opportunity to participate in the Rodeo, but participation was minimal because of his age. This year however was the beginning of our journey.

Of course nothing is ever simple. We had to dress the part, talk the talk, and ride like a cowboy. Four year old imaginations never cease to amaze me. Dalton and mommy took a trip to the 'cowboy' store and this was the end result.
