It's Baseball Time

It's that time of year again, Little League baseball season. Dalton was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers this year and will be playing in the Pee Wee 8 division for Washington County. This will be his last year with a pitching machine. Next year he moves into real baseball, kid pitch. We have told him this is his year to focus and shine or it could be his last year of ball. We look forward to a great season and many nights at the ballpark. He has had two practices to date and I can say he did much better his second practice.

Valentines 2014

Winter 2014

So if you ask most Americans their thoughts about Winter 2014 the word miserable would probably be very commonly used. We in Texas have certainly had our fair share of some bitterly COLD temps or at least colder than we like in Texas. Obviously that is why we live here to avoid the deep freeze, ice, snow etc. This year however has been an exception. We have had several delayed starts for school and even an ice day, although there really was never an ice accumulation. The last few weeks the sun has reappeared and we have even had a few "shorts" days in February, but today winter has reappeared and we expect to have temperatures at or near freezing again. Thankfully it will be short lived as this weekend we will be back into the 70s which is a welcomed site in Texas because before to long we will be complaining about temps in the 100s. Here are just a few pictures from our "ice" days of 2014. Hopefully there are no more to come and Spring is just around the corner.

Little Miss

Just a couple pictures to show you what Little Miss has been up to lately. She still plays with her kitchen, but I think she enjoys getting everything out, essentially making a HUGE mess, and then moves on to something else. She still LOVES to read or be read to. We caught her one night sound asleep on the couch with an open book.

The LEGO Movie

There was no better way to celebrate Dalton's 8th Birthday then seeing The LEGO Movie opening day. He invited his closest buds for pizza, cake and the movie after school last Friday. The boys were all so excited they could not contain their energy. Dalton absolutely LOVES Lego's so a movie was icing on the cake. They all had a blast. After the movie Dalton invited Austin for a sleepover. The boys were up until about 1:00 am before they crashed from the sugar high they had going on.

January Birthday Fun

The weather was perfect on Dalton's actual birthday so the kids enjoyed some time outside enjoying the sun before the cold weather hit again the next day. This winter has been one of the coldest/wettest we have seen in the last few years. It has us all hoping for warmer temps.
