Graduation Gift

Dalton's Kindergarten Graduation gift was a weekend getaway tailored completely for him. Our 1st stop was the Downtown Aquarium Restaurant in Houston for a nice meal before we checked into our hotel, The Inn at the Ballpark and headed to the Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers baseball game.

We had great seats thanks to the "Getting A Hook On Cancer" fundraiser.

Dalton got a personalized Houston Astros baseball bat with his name, Kindergarten Graduation and date.

We enjoyed fireworks after the game and then headed back to the room across the street.

On our way back to the room we walked past these and I obviously thought we needed a picture.

In the hotel lobby.

View of downtown Houston from our room.

On Saturday morning we headed to the Downtown Aquarium.

After the Aquarium we headed to Kemah. We enjoyed lunch on the patio at Joe's Crab Shack and watched the big boats go in and out of Galveston Bay.

This is what Dalton wants.

There was also a big boat show that weekend. Here are just a few of the boats on display.

This was Dalton's favorite.

We have always seen the "Beast" on our previous trips to Kemah, but never took a ride. We decided to treat Dalton for a ride on the "Big Boat" while we were there. Thankfully we decided to do this last because we were drenched from head to toe by the time we got off. Not exactly what we expected to say the least. All in all it was a great weekend and we got to spend some quality time with Dalton that we have not done since Mallory was born.

Frog Legs Anyone???

This lovely specimen was caught at our tank last week. We know they are there because we can hear them every night. The kids think it's cool to "catch" them, but "catching" was a little tricky. After a few nights this lovely guy was not quick enough for the dip net. After bringing it to the house to show mommy and take pictures they returned to the tank to set Mr. Froggy loose. I thought the guy was HUGE, but I was corrected, he was a baby compared to some of the others. What do you think? Are you hungry for any frog legs?
