Day 5 - Sunset Pics

The rain cleared out just in time for our scheduled sunset pictures at 6:45 pm. Although we had no rain the wind was absolutely obnoxious. Thankfully the photography could edit the photos and those ended up turning out fabulous. I decided to snap a few on our phone after we were done and as you can see Mallory's hair is everywhere. After pictures the kids shopped at Alvin's Island when we returned to the condo and then we headed up to make hot dogs and Frito pies.

Day 5 - Thunderstorns and Rain

Tuesday, July 15th was filled with thunderstorms and lots of rain. We woke up to rain and knew it was a 60% chance of rain all day because of a cold front pushing through. We decided to tour the town since we could not do the beach or pools. We headed out on a casual drive. There was lots of traffic. Obviously everyone had the same idea. We ended up at Pier Park and had burgers at Five Guys and then headed back to the condo to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing.

Day 4 - More Sand and Surf

July 14th, day 4 on vaca and once again we spent it playing in the sand and surf. We headed down to the beach about 9:30 am. The waves were slightly bigger than the day before, but was expected with the anticipated storms the next day. It was a yellow caution flag for the second day. The weather was great. Sun was bright and water temperature was much warmer than the day before. The beach was packed with people. The most we have seen all four years. Dalton came down with a rash from the algae in the water because of his eczema. He told us the spots burned and hurt, however it did not keep him out of the water or sand. We headed back to the condo about 2:00 pm for lunch. We made sandwiches and headed back down to the beach about 3:30 pm and stayed until 5:00 pm. The kids then headed to the pools until 6:00 pm. We headed up to the room, cleaned up and made burgers. The kids facetimed with Nana and showed her the beautiful sunset live from our balcony. Daddy and Dalton hunted for crabs again later that night while Mallory and Mommy crashed in the condo.

Day 3 - The Beach

Sunday, July 13 was our first full day at the beach and it was spent in the sand and waves. The water was crystal clear until early afternoon when a little algae started to appear in the water. There was no actual seaweed however. The water temperature was very cool that morning and most of the day was overcast. We got down to the beach around 10:00 am and then headed back up to the room around 1:00 pm for lunch. We made sandwiches and headed back down to the lazy river. We headed back out to the beach around 3:00 pm. The sun was out and the water temperature was warmer. We hung out with the sand and waves until around 6:00 pm when we headed back up to the room to shower and make supper. We enjoyed tacos out on our balcony and after supper the kids put on their swimsuits and we headed down to the water park and lazy river. After about an hour we headed back to the room so Dalton and daddy could go searching for some sand crabs. Mallory took a bath and crashed on the couch. It was a long day for her.
