Mother's Day 2014

I felt loved and blessed the entire weekend. The best job in the world is being called "Mom". It's an amazing blessing from God and above all I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to be a mom to these kiddos. I'm also very thankful for my amazing husband who loves me unconditionally. On Friday morning the Krause Elementary second graders celebrated their moms with brunch and handmade gifts. Mallory shared her handmade gift they did in school for me and then I was showered with flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, Chilli's for lunch on Saturday, a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure and above all an outpouring of Love! Being a mom is truely the most rewarding job and gift I could ever receive!

B-17 Bomber

The first weekend of May one of the few B-17 Bombers still able to fly visited the Brenham Airport. You could take a tour of the plane and even a flight above Brenham for the right price. Grandpa took Dalton to see it Friday afternoon before the Maifest Coronation and then Saturday after the Maifest Parade we drove out to the airport to show Mallory.

Maifest Mystery Madness 2014

Once again both kids were eager to participate in Brenham's annual Maifest coronation and parade. This year Dalton was a Men In Black and Mallory was a Ribbon Doll. Yes, it requires some extra effort on our parts to make practices and get costumes together, but the night of coronation makes all that so minor when you watch the children in their costumes and see the excitement in their eyes. It's one night a year when they feel like "stars".

Saturday morning parade festivities.

Yes there were the traditional floats with the kids and they all looked adorable but then there were these that caught our attention and were out of the norm. The parade was actually really neat this year.
