On Saturday, July 19 we got up at 7:00 AM and were in the car and on the road by 8:00 AM. Thankfully it was raining, I mean pouring so it made leaving a little easier. According to the radar it showed we would have rain all the way til Mobile, AL and we certainly did. It was a slow drive. We crossed the Alabama state line at 10:24 AM with mileage of 121.4. We stopped in Grand Bay, AL at noon for lunch at Hardee's, potty and gas. We were back on the road at 12:50 PM. We were in Mississippi at 12:52 PM and in Louisiana by 1:52 PM with a mileage of 267.6. We had a potty and gas stop at 4:45 PM in Iowa, LA and were back on the road at 4:54 PM. We entered Texas at 5:29 PM with mileage of 518. We hit the 290 de-tours in Houston and was in Washington County by 8:01 PM. We stopped at Sonic in Brenham to grab supper and headed home. We were home by 8:40 PM with mileage of 718.5. Not a bad trip given traffic, rain and road de-tours.
