Day 4

Day 4 (July 4th) was much like day 3 except stronger winds and consistent rain unlike day 3 which had a few breaks. We woke up hoping for the best but expecting the worst. We were so excited for the day; we had planned an airboat adventure in the swamp to checkout gators and then that evening we had reservations for a sunset cruise on a pirate ship. We planned to round out the day by watching the numerous fireworks shows off the coast. Instead, our day consisted of indoor activities.

The radar view we woke up to.

What it looked like out our balcony.

Obviously it was a tad worse than even the locals predicted because we saw the Aquatic Adventures crew out moving their equipment and beach rental chairs before the water destroyed them.

They could not go to the sand so we brought the sand to them. Yes, that is in the living room. Thanful for the tile floors so clean-up was not to complicated.

I could have taken radar pictures every hour this day and the view would not have changed. It was absolutely miserable.

Once again we headed down to the lobby were the resort was ready to occupy the kids time. Both kids made build-a-buddies, painted clay turtles, and made more sandy candy.

After we spent a few hours downstairs we came back to the condo, had lunch and then let the kids creativity come to life.

That evening we headed out to a local dive on the beach for some seafood.

A close-up of the waves coming in at dinner time.

After dinner the rain subdued for an hour or so and we agreed to let the kids do some crabbing and fireworks.
