We woke up to heavy rain and a flash flood watch on day 3. Not quite what we were hoping for to say the least. The kids woke up eager to hit the beach. The look on their poor faces when they saw the rain was heartbreaking. Thankfully the resort is centered around family and kids and another reason we have not strayed year after year. They had activities planned to substitute for no beach or pool. The kids enjoyed making their own shark tooth necklaces and sandy candy. After the morning activities we decided to venture out into what felt like a monsoon with the constant heavy rain and winds. We ended up at Pier Park for a potty stop and brief stroll between showeres. We did manage to sneak in some ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery and then enjoyed dinner at Olive Garden.
