Fun In The Sun

We headed to Fort Worth for the July 4th weekend to spend some fun in the sun with Jeff, Sandi and the kids. It's been over 3 years since we made the drive. I was a bit concerned how Mallory would endure the 4-hr drive. We figured Dalton would entertain himself, but what we did not figure on was the 10,000+ questions asked the entire drive. The most frequent "Are we there yet?...How many more minutes? Is this Fort Worth?". We can only imagine how the drive to Florida will be in a couple weeks.

We were also thankful that my parents were able to join in on the fun. It is a rare occasion for my dad to "just get away", but I think they enjoyed themselves just as much as we did. Once again we had gracious hosts and can't imagine our lives without family. We enjoyed the simple things this weekend, but most importantly we enjoyed making memories. Next time we won't wait so long to get back together.

Dalton also had a huge milestone this weekend. His confidence in the water grew significantly. He jumped off the diving board for the first time and swam to the side unassisted. I'm also thankful to my mom who was the photographer this weekend. I actually have pictures of me and the kids for a change. Thank you!
