1st Day of Dance and Gymnastics

And so "IT" begins..."IT" being the so called "second child extracurricular activities" that is. We signed Mallory up for dance (tap, ballet & jazz) and gymnastics at Aspirations for this school year. This is her first opportunity to do anything outside of going to day school each day. So far so good. She shed a few tears the first day but was all smiles when I picked her up an hour later. The second day she was a bit clingy but after a few weeks she has become a pro and is looks forward to her special days. Mrs. Deidra and Mrs. Amy are fabulous with her and the other girls. Granted, I have not been able to watch a practice yet, but she certainly comes home and has showed us her gymnastics moves she is learning ie. cartwheel, front roll, handstand and backbend. I have tried to get these on video but everytime I try she stops the moment the camera comes out. I think she is enjoying "nastics" as she calls it more but that's only becuase when I ask about dance she does not talk about it but did tell me once that it was top secret. Guess that's part of the recital we will have to wait until May 2014 to see. As long as she continues to enjoy them both we will continue to juggle the new schedule of running two kids in different directions throughout the week.

She takes dance on Monday's for 1 hour a week. Her 1st day of dance was September 9.

She takes gymnastics on Thursday's for 1 hour a week. Her 1st day of gymnastics was September 5. (I'll have to get a more recent picture of her new leotard that Nana and Popo bought her but this was after her 1st day. We had some time to waste before another evening activity so we stopped by McDonald's for a bite to eat...the joy of living out in the country and not running back and forth into town.)
