We enjoyed a nice night in Biloxi. Ryan could not resist hitting up the casino, so after both kids hit the sack I decided to blog and Ryan went to gamble. At least he came back with a few extra dollars in his pocket. We headed out this morning around 10:30 am for our final destination, Panama City Beach, Florida. Today's drive went just as smooth. We hit the Alabama state line by 11:00 am and crossed the Florida state line at 11:52 am in pouring down rain. We decided to take another scenic drive along the water through Pensacola to Destin and on the Panama City Beach. We decided to make our one and only stop today in Destin for gas and lunch. We arrived Destin at 1:15 pm and found a nice shopping center to let the kids run. Ryan enjoyed walking through Bass Pro Shops, Dalton liked the big guitar (Hard Rock Cafe where we had lunch) and both kids enjoyed making Build A Bears to remind them of Florida. It was a great little stop. We were back on the road by 4:00 pm with only 51 miles to go. We finally saw the sun peak out of the clouds and was a nice 84 degrees. We arrived at the Splash Condos, our home away from home, by 5:00 pm. Here are some pictures from our journey today.
This was one tired little boy last night...so peaceful!
A look outside our room in Biloxi.
Getting ready to enter the tunnel in Mobile, AL.
Downtown Mobile
The USS Battleship Alabama Memorial Park outside the tunnel in Mobile.
We found it ironic that we entered 'The Sunshine State' in pouring rain. We sure were glad we changed the windshield blades before we left. We have not seen rain like this in Texas in a long time. There was water standing everywhere.
We saw this in Destin...Dalton was in love and wants one now!
We stopped at this quaint little shopping center in Destin for a couple hours to eat lunch, stretch our legs and let the kids have some fun.
