Yes, our summer has unfortunately come to an end and it's back to the classrooms. I won't lie, I loved our summer break especially my Friday's with the kids, but I'm ready to be back into a routine.
Dalton started his second year at Krause. Hard to believe he is already in the second grade. He has two teachers this year Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Koehler. He will switch classrooms around the noon hour each day. I'm happy to report that his 1st day was a success. He chose to have Granny take him to school and drop him off at the front door. No walking him in to class. He is growing up way to fast.
Mallory started her second year at St. Paul's. She is a Bouncing Bear this year (3 year old class) and has Mrs. Cone and Mrs. Schultz. She will have class time three days a week this year compared to two days last year. Mallory was so ready to be a Bouncing Bear that she asked daily for the past week when the first day of school was. I'm happy to report that her 1st day was a complete success. She as opposed to her brother cried Monday morning and insisted that Mommy had to take her to school. As we got closer I asked if she wanted me to drop her off in the drive-thru or park and walk her in. As I parked and got her out I asked if she was going to be a big girl because I did not want to see any tears. To my surprise she confidently walked into school, thru the halls and out to the playground. As the teacher took her backpack she headed into the playground running to her friends. No hug, no kiss and no goodbye for Mom! To say I was a little bummed is an understatement, BUT I was so proud of her accomplishment. She is growing up into her own individual person way to fast! Mrs. Cone was happy to report that she had 15 preschool children (ages 3/4) not shed one tear the 1st day of school. That makes this parent extremely happy and says something about the staff and children at St. Paul's. We are truely blessed to be a part of this amazing christian family.
