Roof in Progress

Framing is complete, black felt paper down, chimney formed what's next...shingles. Work continues to progress. The plumbers should be back Friday and finish up Monday. Then then work on the inside begins. They should be able to start insulating and hanging sheetrock next week. Until next time.

By the way, I have lots of cleaning ahead of me this weekend.

Creating a Fireplace

The rock layer started yesterday 2-19-09 with the fireplace. The electricians are wrapping things up and the exterior trim is painted. Things continue to move along.

Electrical & Plumbing

The plumbers started running drain vents on the 9th of February and the electricians started running electrical wires, telephone wires, and installing recessed lighting on the 11th of February. The exterior doors are on and the 1st load of rock arrived on February 13th. The 2nd load of rock arrived on February 16th. The painters are at the house today painting the exterior trim so the rock layer can begin. Here are more pictures. Sorry it's been a while since I uploaded pictures.

As you can see the wind is really creating a mess with the black paper. The roof can not be put on until the rock layer completes the fireplace and chimney. He was waiting on rock. The rock is here now we will wait on the rock layer so we can get the roof on.


The electricians have made several references to the number of plugs and switches. My anwser...there is never to many of either one.

PVC pipe is ready for the plumbers to run in the walls.

After an afternoon of sweeping shavings, dirt, etc. the house actually seemed clean. I was reminded that it would not stay that way long. I guess I know what I will be doing each weekend.

Duct Work Complete

The duct work is complete and the HVAC systems have been installed in the attic.

Update

I don't have new pictures to post and their has not been much work at the house over the last week, but thought I would provide a quick update. The HVAC guys finished on Feb. 4 and the exterior doors are now on. The plumbers started running drain vents on Feb. 9 and we wait for the electricians.

And the decision is....

After many long talks and talks and talks we have finally decided on rock, shingles, and exterior paint. The windows are in, doors arrived Friday and the AC/heating units are in. The AC guys worked all last week installing duct work and the units. The electricians and plumbers should start this week.

This is one of two heating and cooling units for the house.
