Future Brenham Cub

Check out the future Brenham Cub. Last night during Meet the Cubs Dalton along with several of his buddies got to meet the varsity Brenham Cub football players. It's a great program that Brenham offers and we took advantage of it this year. During each home football game Dalton will get to meet his football player at the Cub Field locker room, walk onto the field with him, stand on the track for the fight song, Star Spangled Banner and kick-off. After the game, if we can make it to the end, he will have the opportunity to help him with his equipment.

Austin Cone, Dalton, Austin Maurer and Colten Wensel checking out the action on the field as the football teams were introduced.

I happened to turn around one time to make sure they were still behaving and this is what I saw. Then I realized they were introducing the cheerleaders. Priceless moment.

1st Day of School 2012

The 1st day of school was a success for both Dalton and Mallory. Mallory actually started her day with a visit to Dr. Draehn to confirm she had an ear infection. I dropped her off at St. Paul's about 9:30 and of course a few tears were shed when I left. I received a call from Mrs. Schmidt Monday afternoon re-assuring me that the tears were short lived and that Mallory made her self right at home. She is one of the more vocal, mature 2 years olds in the class and will likely become a helper.

Dalton however is still adjusting to the new atmosphere at Krause. His 1st friend he made was Lawson, but he met Kade and Kyler on the playground. He has asked to go back to St. Paul's once because they get to play on the playground in the morning and once he gets to school they have to do school work which he does not like. He has had two "green" days so far. We are looking forward to a terrific year and ready to meet the Brenham Cubs this evening.

St. Paul's Open House

Last Friday Mallory was able to visit her new classroom and meet her new teachers, Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Connie. We were super excited to get Mrs. Schmidt because Dalton absolutely loved both of them. She jumped right into reading the books and playing with the new toys. She was not quite ready for a picture with her teachers. We hope she has a great 1st year at St. Paul's CDS as a Frisky Frog.

On a side note, before we left Dalton made a few rounds and said his goodbyes. He was definitely a little sad about leaving but new adventures are on his horizon and change is good for all of us.

Krause Open House

Geez...it's been a whirlwind of a summer full of highs and lows! What do we do? Is it the right time? Will he be happy? The list could go on and on with all the things that crossed our minds. Of course the time is here and a decision had to be made. After some heavy hearts, thoughts about the future and torn emotions we have chosen to join the Krause Elementary family.

As Ryan and I picked up Dalton yesterday for the final time at St. Paul's it was a bittersweet moment. We have one who is ending his career at St. Paul's after 4 FUN, AMAZING, TERRIFIC, GOD-CENTERED years while one is just beginning her journey. It's hard to believe we have a 1st grader and a Frisky Frog. Where have the years gone?

Open House was great. Dalton was excited to see his new school, meet his new teacher and see old friends. We are blessed to have a room full of St. Paul's kids. Seeing familiar faces and parents always puts your mind at ease. Krause rolled out the red carpet (literally ~ when we walked thru the front doors) last night for us. It's going to be a terrific year. Lights, Camera, Krause...Setting the Stage for Success!!!

Red Fish

Ryan left Sunday and headed to Louisiana with a couple friends for a fishing trip. Dalton usually gives him a hard time when he goes so this time he promised to bring a fish home for Dalton to see. All in all it was a good trip. I think they ended up with 37 trout and 4 reds.

Dalton was excited to see his 1st red up close.

LCRA Company Picnic

This past Saturday we loaded up and headed to New Braunfels to the T Bar M Resort. Every year LCRA hosts a family picnic for their employees so this year we decided to join in on the fun for the 1st time. If you are not familiar with it check them out. The place is packed with activities that include an indoor sports center, indoor tennis, lots of swimming, a putting green, ropes course, zip line, sand volleyball, basketball, horseshoes or simply enjoying the wildlife and scenary by walking, jogging or biking. They also host T Bar M Camps which is a non-denominational Christian day camp or sports camp during the summer for kids K-11. We spent majority of our time in two of the three pools but also managed a break in between for a little golfing. It was a GREAT family day and was worth while since I won a cash door prize (deposit for a winter vacation)!

The BLOB ~ definitley a hit with Dalton. Basically one person jumps on then when ready a second jumps on essentially knocking the first person off either by sliding down or flying thru the air and landing in the water.

Mallory proving she can do anything big brother does. Daddy was right there to snatch her up. She could have done this all day if we let her.

Mallory's mad golfing skills...it's a serious thing getting that ball in the hole.

Ryan even joined in on the BLOB fun.

Aggie Family Fun Night 2012

We had a great evening last night at the Aggie Family Fun Night hosted by the Washington A&M Club and Aggie Mom's. The kids got to meet two of the Aggie Yell Leaders, ride the carousel, play in the park, and enjoy hot dogs and Blue Bell Ice Cream. We ended the evening in Aggie fashion...yell practice.
