???Rock???

The million dollar question is "NOW which one". I should say "what other choices do we have". Our trip to pick out rock we thought was an easy one. We only liked 3 so how difficult could that become. Simple you would think.

Well Wednesday the rock layer put up all 3 samples so that we could see an example of each. Take a look yourself.

#1 Autumn Blend - used primarily for dry stack

#2 Yellow Limestone

#3 Lueders Gray

The problem is, we neither one like any of them for one reason or another. If you are reading this please let us know what your choice is by sending a comment. Stay tuned for our final decision.

Framing is Complete

The framers completed their job on Friday, January 16. The rock layer will be at the house on Wednesday to create four sample walls for us to chose our final rock. The electricians plan to start next week. Last Friday we looked at granite slabs and Monday we picked plumbing fixtures. The fun has just started. So far we have not had major differences on opinion.

Roof is decked

The roof is on and trim work is in progress. The inside supports have been removed so the inside is beginning to take shape now. Last night I could actually walk through the entire house without bending over, stepping over, or blocked all together. The next big step will be to pick out our plumbing fixtures and granite Friday.

Decking the Roof

They started decking the roof late Thursday afternoon. We met with the contractor on Friday morning and picked out windows, exterior doors, and narrowed our rock choice down to four. Within a week they will create four sample boards on the house for us to make our final choice. Here is the house as it stands 1-11-09.

The Roof Is Moving Along

I stopped by yesterday after work to see if anything had been done the last few days considering the cold rainy weather we had at the beginning of the week. Much to my amazement the rafters are almost complete. Guess they have been working.

Update

I know it has been a while since I posted an update and pictures, but I have not been a work for two weeks. Anyways work has progressed. The main floor is closed in and the roof should be closed in by the end of the week. We have an appt. on Friday to pick windows and doors and on Saturday we plan to look for rock. The fun begins.
