34 Years and Counting

Back on the 6th of October we celebrated Ryan's 34th trip around the sun. It was a low key celebration that included dinner and dessert at Chilli's just the four of us, but it does not mean that he didn't deserve more because he certainly does! Afterall he is the glue that keeps our family together and is the foundation that keeps us all grounded and without him I'm not sure where we would be today. Here's to many more trips around the sun God willing of course!!!

Last Fishing Trip For 2014

The weekend after the fair we loaded up and headed down to Port O'Connor for a quick fishing trip and to take the boat out one last time for the year. We knew the weather was not favorable, but we had room reservations that we could not cancel so we decided if nothing else it would be a good weekend getaway with my family. As expected it rained the entire weekend. The guys went out and "tried" to do some fishing in the rain, but they caught nothing to keep. It was a nice relaxing weekend and after taking care of the chickens for 6 straight weeks day and night it was nice to have no worries again.

Washington County Fair

The 2014 Washington County Fair had a new meaning for us this year. Dalton officially became a 4-H member and got to show is 1st of many fair projects this year. Although it did not have the outcome we had hoped for it was a great learning opportunity for him and the entire family. The fair project itself deserves a post of it's own at a later date. I normally take several fair photos, but this year for some reason I always carried my camera with me, but never took a picture. LOL so here are the few that I do have to remember the fair of 2014.

Soccer x2

This falls soccer season is times two...Mallory got her first chance to play sports. It's definitely been comical to watch her. She is definitely a little diva on the field. We will have to wait a few more years to see if sports is her thing or not. Dalton still enjoys the game and made a big transition this year moving to U10. His team now plays the entire length of the field. No more half field games.

The game schedules between the two have been manageable. We've had a couple games at the same time on the same night so we split up, but then we have had several games on the same night just back to back which makes for a long night at Hohlt Park, but it limits the amount of days we are there. Here's just a few random pictures I've taken from their games this fall.

Homecoming Game

We can say that we came, we watched, we got drenched and we really, really tried to hang tough but in the end we had to support our Cubs by radio!! The Homecoming Game on September 12 was blessed by torrential rain that started exactly on cue...kickoff! It was definitely a memorable Homecoming night!

Homecoming Parade 2014

Just another reason why I LOVE this little gem of a town... Don't know a better way to get pumped up about a football game than Blue Bell and a parade!!!

1st Home Cub Football Game

The first Cub football game was on the road and we don't usually travel to the games or at least just yet, but we did catch the 1st home opener. This year both kids participated in the Future Cub program, but Mallory would not walk out on the field with the football players. They were paired with Shawn Weiss this year.

Dove Hunting

Dove hunting, that annual tradition Labor Day weekend. The boys enjoyed a few hunts out at the Hueske farm and of course had some laughs and made some memories. I'm not exactly sure where the trill of shooting something so small comes from but they sure do enjoy eating them.

Supporting Our Aggies

While we don't usually go to any of the Aggie football games we do try to root them on at home. Here is what one Saturday eveing game looked like. Hopefully in a few years we will get a chance to take both kids to a game or two in the new stadium, when they are older and can make the whole game of course!

1st Day of School 2014-2015
