9 Days and Counting...

We are only 9 days away until our 1st trip to Walt Disney World. The kids excitement is growing by the day. They do not let us forget just how many days are left until Mickey and Minnie. I'm actually taking bets now that both will be terrified of the characters.

Mallory more so than Dalton has already started to pack her suitcase or at least in her world...Minnie beach towel, swimsuit, pink cover-up, and a stuffed Minnie Mouse. Yesterday at Wal-Mart she insisted that I had to buy Ariel fruit snacks so she would have something to eat. I just love how simple her little mind is. Forget the rest of us, at least she's thinking about herself.

Thankfully I hope that we are well planned for this adventure. I'm not saying vacation because I honestly think we will all need a vacation after we get back, IF we all survive. Say a prayer for safe travels. This will be the kids 1st airplane ride as well.

96 Years

This past weekend the Winkelmann family celebrated Granny Wink's 96th Birthday! 96 years and still going. It was a great day to celebrate. The weather was perfect and we took full advantage of it. The great-grandkids enjoyed running outside while the grandkids enjoyed playing a couple games of dominoes with Granny. Great memories were certainly made.

Personal Meat Market

As deer season quickly approaches it's that time of year again to make sure the freezer is ready for more meat. A couple weekends ago Ryan decided to mix up the remaining deer meat from last year with a brisket and make groundmeat for the fall/winter months. It's so nice to have our own personal meat market. Now if we could ever manage to sustain a garden for fresh veggies those trips to the grocery store would no longer be needed. I can dream at least can't I?

1st Cub Football Game of 2013

Unfortunately we won't make many home CUB football games this year so we made a point to make the 1st home game back on September 6th. We actually only made it to halftime before both kids were ready to go home. The CUBS managed a win that night to start the season 1-1.
